A Charlevoix Summer Destination Wedding

It was a warm, sunny and breezy day on July 30 with the morning starting in the low 60's. As Captain of Events, I arrived onsite about 10am to prep for the Chelsea (bride) and her mother Jennifer along with the wedding planner Tableau Events to arrive at 11am. Outside, Petals, a local florist, started outside on the wedding lawn by installing the flowers on the birch wedding arch and flanked the aisles with birch pedestals with arrangements.

Inside, Petals placed driftwood, small bud vases and votive candles to get a lakefront beach vibe. They did not disappoint. Tableau Events helped planned the final details of the wedding even down to the gold flatware.

As the wedding party arrived, the girls started getting ready across the street at our Annex building that holds a large dressing room and hair and makeup room.

The ceremony started on the wedding lawn and had the perfect backdrop of Lake Charlevoix. The temperature raised to the mid 70’s and felt hot. All their guests, including the bride and groom, had arrived mostly from California making this a #destinationwedding. They each added beach sand from California and Norwood, MI to their shadowbox, showing their two worlds coming together. Both Tom and Chelsea’s kindness shown through as they were thoughtful of others and wanted everyone to enjoy their special day with them.

Chelsea was in a stunning white flowy gown with a lace underlay that peeked through. The groom, Tom, was in a dark blue suit with bowtie. I noticed the guys had a lively print on their dress shirts, hiding under their suit coats, which brought their California flair to Northern Michigan.

Food and bartending were prepared and served by a service out of #traversecitymichigan Catering by Kelly’s.

Tom & Chelsea even stood up in front of everyone to share their heartfelt appreciation for the 100 guests attending their wedding. Behind them was the stage for Blue Water Kings Band. Dancing started and Tom dipped Chelsea, classic! Look at that dress! Meanwhile, guests enjoyed cocktails out on our covered porch and lawn.

This last photo right here captures it all with them looking back on their guests having fun. Congratulations Chelsea & Tom! CYC Events loved hosting your wedding!
