Earth Day is here!

In honor of Earth Day I want to share what we at Charlevoix Yacht Club Events are doing to protect the environment.

Those of you who have been here already know we have a beautiful venue located right on the shore of Lake Charlevoix. The lake is the third largest lake in Michigan with 56 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 122 feet. It is connected to Lake Michigan through the Round Lake and Pine River Channel in downtown Charlevoix. It holds approximately 309 billion gallons of freshwater. It is fed by rivers and streams and surrounded by many homes. It is popular for fishing and all water sports. Often you can see a sailboat race taking place right in front of our venue. With a natural gem like this, the environment is especially important to us.

Did you know that Charlevoix Yacht Club Event Center works to recycle as much of our waste as possible?

It is estimated that an average wedding creates approximately 400 to 600 pounds of garbage and 63 tons of CO2 emissions. The primary waste is decorations and flowers, single use plastics, leftover foods and guest transportation.

At CYCE we work hard to recycle any paper, cardboard, and paper products possible. We are very frequent guests of the Charlevoix Recycling Center. We also recycle bottles and cans. We even work with customers to reuse their fresh flowers by donating them to care facilities where they can be enjoyed by others. When requested we can save your vases and votives to make available to another customer in the future.

We know the environment is important to you. It is important to us too! We encourage you to join us in protecting the environment.
