Winter Weddings

Updated: Apr 20, 2022

Did you know that late winter to early spring is the peak season for engagements? Brides-to-be are starting to think of what time of year works best for them to get married. How exciting! Until the search for a venue begins, because they realize if they want to get married this year, it can be challenging to find an open date in the peak season of weddings June-September.

Let me inspire you to consider other months in the year that are absolutely stunning in northern Michigan! CYC Events here in Charlevoix is open year-round and offers seasonal discounts. Did you know that our lowest rates are in the winter? Stop for a minute and consider this option.

Charlevoix is a quiet little town on the shores of Lake Michigan. I've grown to adore the winters in Charlevoix, as a city resident. In the winter we have more availability for lodging, catering is more open, etc. If you are looking for a romantic, quiet and intimate wedding then we have what you are looking for! The Charlevoix area has snowmobile trails, nearby ski hills for downhill or cross country, nature trails, ice caves on Lake Michigan, local wineries and breweries, the beautiful red lighthouse on the pier and more shops are staying open through the winter. More information on Charlevoix can be found at: Visit Charlevoix, Michigan | Charlevoix the Beautiful! | Great Lakes Tourism | Discover Northern Michigan

The video above shows what it would a winter wedding would look like with our beautiful white Chiavari chairs. We can hold a ceremony indoors in the heated Event Hall that overlooks Lake Charlevoix. There is room for a ceremony of 50-75 guests and a reception for 100 guests. This allows space to move tables and chairs between ceremony and reception.

Winter can seem long up here, but that's even a better reason to celebrate your special day and create long lasting memories.
